Lean out of the window è una delle prime liriche di James Joyce: la incluse nella raccolta Chamber Music che pubblicò nel 1907, quando aveva venticinque anni.

Sarà per la struttura della lirica, sarà per il titolo della raccolta, la poesia è stata musicata un po' da tutti, Luciano Berio e Syd Barrett compresi (per un elenco più dettagliato, ma tutt'altro che esaustivo, vedi qui).
